I saw Amy MacDonald Live at Subterranean a year ago and her performance and voice was mesmerizing. I found this live clip of her on rolling stone and thought you should listen. Has anyone else seen a live performance the just cant forget? Let me know i'm always looking for great music to listen to.

I was at that show as well. Very talented singer-songwriter. Always thought it was cool she had just come from doing another show at the Vic, walked down onstage w/the band, then ripped right into Poison Prince to kick off the set. Look forward to seeing what she'll come up with on her next LP...

Can't really think of anyone off-hand who is that similar to her breaking out these days, but if you like female artists been listening to UK's Florence + the Machine a lot in recent mos. Little different sound than Amy, but I think it's pretty damned good.

I LOVE Florence + the Machine. Kiss with a Fist is just a great song. Sounds a lot like Ida Maria, the Kills, etc. to me. Another female artist I've been really into recently is Emily Wells. She's playing Lincoln Hall 12/26.
