Pitchfork Music Festival - Friday

Union Park (map)

Selected By: Miriam

Update: We'll be near the first aid booth with a purplish CIRF sign between 3:15-3:40 and again between 6:15-6:35, but I'll also email a cell # to the rsvps by Friday morning. Tenative plan is to meet up, check out Tallest Man (4:00) and Liars (5:30) both at the c stage, and then meet up again before heading back over to the c stage for Broken Social Scene (7:20) and finally Modest Mouse (8:30) at the a stage. Depending on how long the sets are, we might be able to check out some of the other bands and comedy acts that they've added.

Join us for the opening day of Pitchfork Music Festival. The festival runs from 3 pm-10 pm on Friday and includes the following lineup:
Modest Mouse 8:30 (a)
Eugene Mirman - comedy 8:00 (b)
Broken Social Scene 7:20 (c)
Michael Showalter - comedy 7:15 (b)
Wyatt Cenac - comedy 6:30 (b)
Robyn 6:25 (a)
Hannibal Buress - comedy 5:45 (b)
Liars 5:30 (c)
El-P 4:30 (a)
The Tallest Man on Earth 4:00 (c)
Sharon Van Etten 3:30 (a)

We will be near the first aid booth with the CIRF sign at designated times TBD (will update once the schedule is released). Also feel free to message Miriam for a cell #. There are separate meetups for Saturday and Sunday, so only rsvp to this one if you're planning to come on Friday. As of now, single day tickets for Friday and Saturday are still available for $40 each here, but one day passes for Sunday as well as the three-day passes are sold out.

I'm confused about this meetup. It says "White Rabbits & Spoon" but they're not scheduled to play on Friday, which is when this meetup is scheduled for.

Ruby - I think you might be getting this meetup confused w/another event. This page is for RSVP-ing to the Pitchfork Festival which is being held next wknd @ Union Park. You're probably asking about the Old St. Pat's Block Party at Madison/Desplaines which is this weekend (and where WRs & Spoon are playing). That is not official meetup, it was only suggested as a meetup idea in another post.

Ticket Update: According to the Festival site, there are still tickets available for Friday evening, so if you plan on joining us I suggest getting your ticket soon. Also, a limited number of Sat & Sun tickets will be available at the Fest Box Office in Union Park on Thurs, 7/15 from 11a-6p. Must buy tix in person, cash only, first-come, first-served...

I'll be shooting the fest so I doubt I'll have time to meetup. But, if I can, I'll be sure to say hi.

I will be able to attend the 6:15-6:35, but I'm not certain I'll make the 3:15-3:40 timeslot yet.
