My favorite "post-rock" duo from Philly is playing what may be their penultimate performance before their sojourn to Kalamashoegazerfest 4, and it's at a venue we don't get to a lot-- Reggie's Music Joint next to Reggie's Rock Club on South State (lots of free parking! close to the 'L'! not the best neighborhood!). By my math this is 4 bands for $5, and the food is good and cheap too! If you get there early, they've got a great record store upstairs.

Chris MacCarthy is a solo artist from Chicago, IL (native of Grand Forks, ND). His music has been compared to Sufjan Stevens, Nick Cave, Evan Dando (The Lemonheads), Thom Yorke (Radiohead), and Cat Power.

DAEMON FAMILIAR
Daemon Familiar is a power-pop trio from Chicago dedicated to reviving the lost art of the catchy pop/rock song. A tight meld of their musical roots Cheap Trick, Hüsker Dü, and Nirvana creates their raw riff-driven compositions. Infectious hooks, vocal harmonies, and crunchy guitar melodies are their stock in trade. Not since Cheap Trick has a band from Illinois set out to deliver songs so unforgettable they'll be tattooed on your cerebral cortex.

BLISS.CITY.EAST
bliss.city.east was born in 2008 when Kim and Perry from Skylight decided to play some live shows in Chicago. We went through several musicians while we were getting our "sea legs" until we found Eric D'Asto, a talented guitar/bass player and songwriter. We have a blast in the studio, joking around and enjoying our time together, and sometimes cool sounds come out of it.
