Band Bios from Last.fm:

Local Natives (formerly cavil at rest) is an indie rock band based in Silver Lake, Los Angeles, California. After the three founding members originally met in high school, a bassist and a drummer were found, and they all moved to a house in Silver Lake in 2008 to record their album. Their debut album as Local Natives, “Gorilla Manor”, was released in the UK on Nov 2nd, 2009, and saw a US release date of Feb. 16th, 2010. The band’s sound has been described as “afropop-influenced guitars with hyperactive drumming and hooky three-part harmonies”. They started to attract the attention of the music press after playing nine shows at the 2009 SXSW festival in Austin, Texas. Initial reviews of Local Natives have drawn favourable comparisons to Arcade Fire, Fleet Foxes and Vampire Weekend.

The Love Language is Stuart McLamb (electric guitar, vocals), Jordan McLamb (percussion, vocals), Missy Thangs (keyboard, vocals), Justin Rodermond (bass guitar, vocals), BJ Burton (Electric guitar, vocals).

The Union Line formed in early 2008 in San Juan Capistrano, CA. Drummer Tony Tancredi had been tour-managing bands since 2004 and was booking shows for acts Matt Costa and The Delta Spirit. Together with vocalist Richard Theisen, Johnny Wilson on keys, and brothers Jordan and Adam Sabolick on guitar and bass, the boys of The Union Line played their first show in February 2008 at The Gypsy Lounge. Quickly becoming a staple in the Orange County music scene, the boys recorded their first album, which was released the following summer. They embarked on a DIY west coast tour with friends The Local Natives, playing sold out shows at The Mint and House Of Blues of Anaheim, and caught the attention of One Little Indian Records, who began to license The Union Line’s anthem driven record.
