The Portland Cello Project, which is amazingly enough actually from Portland, is an experimental classical indie group that consists of all cellists, with the exception of one percussionist. They tend to play at indie rock venues, rather than the more traditional classical venues, and we have the great fortune of getting to see them at the Hideout. Why should you go? Because one cello just isn’t enough.
Opening is folk singer/song writer Laura Gibson, who also hails from Portland. Gibson has received much attention in the press over the last several years and if any of you listen to NPR’s All Songs Considered, you know that Bob Boilen, the show’s host, thinks she’s the greatest thing since sliced bread. Tickets are $10 and you can get them here. We will meet in the bar area at 8:45 p.m. and you can find us by looking for our sign. If you don’t initially see us, keep looking. Sometimes our sign gets blocked but I swear to you we will be there.
I have an extra one it turns out do either of you need one still?
Chris laid claim to the ticket, see there Chris! Chan hope you are able to acquire one at the door if you decide to try
Kim had offered a ticket too - why don't u come chan, I'm sure there is one for both of us
Sorry Chan, my ticket has been spoken for but hopefully someone will be trying to unload an extra at the door.
Hey is there anyone that bought a ticket and is NOT going now? I am a big procrastinator so I'll buy from anyone that has had a change of plans. Otherwise I'll see if I can get one of the few tickets they sell at the door.
