Schubas Tavern (map)

***SOLD OUT***

I really really really like Plants and Animals. They have fantastic melodies and they’re Canadian, so you have to love that. Ohmyrockness.com thinks that if you like the Arcade Fire, you’ll like Plants and Animals too. Check out their Myspace page and buy tickets here. We’ll meet at 9:30 before the show at the Lincoln Tap room.

Netherfriends was a nice surprise and they had a much cleaner live sound than Plants and Animals . . . who also were very good.

Plants and Animals was fantastic. There was definitely more distortion going on live than on their album, which could be good or bad depending on what you like. I like their stuff either way. I didn't get a chance to check out Netherfriends, a local band, before the show but I really enjoyed their set. A few of us were finding some resemblance to Vampire Weekend.

Plants and Animals was phenomenal live! Their album is so mellow but live their sound was just powerful and they are very talented musicians. The opening band, Netherfriends, reminded me a bit of Vampire Weekend. They could be a good up and coming band to follow.

I hadn't heard either band before and Liked both quite a bit. I also had never been to Schubas before and the hype is for real it is a great venue! Plants and Animals seem to have quite a diverse range of sound which I love to see in bands.
