I always miss the good shows! I hate arena rock. I don't go to sportz barz. If the indie rock really rocks, I can't just stand there and nod like all the other hipsters. Otherwise sad countrified tunes cheer me right up.
I don't know if these bands are hip or what, but this is what I downloaded in the last month: American Analog Set, Weinland, The Winston Giles Orchestra, Kurt Vile, Broken Social Scene (I *just* discovered them!), Dolorean, Devendra Banhart.

You can usually assume that the shuttle price will ALWAYS be discounted to half-price for the first week after it's been announced here, so actually $49.50 if you use the discount code "MEETUP" (the code will always be the same). I'll try to figure out how to post prices here without requiring payment here, which is the rub.
Ruby, in general, the shuttles are always $99, with discounts offered to Meetup and other group members for early purchase. In this case, it's half-price until December 24. The History Tours are only offered intermittently,
and are priced based upon costs. There is of course, no cost to attend the meet & greet prior to boarding. Based upon your reason for joining the group, I'd say the shuttle service would definitely fit the bill, you'd get to see something other than the tourist joints.
Hey ruby - thanks for the note. I am so used to adding hyperlinks I didn't check the website when I added it - I will fix it on the post, but its lincolnhallchic
ago.com. Also - the show's date is April 7th and is listed in the heading. I hope you can make it - I'm going either way if you are interested!
Hey Ruby-
I'm sorry the meetup point is too far from you. By all means post a message on the message board. I'm sure you will find somebody in that area. :)
Welcome to the Chicago Running Meetup. I hope you can make it to one of our group runs. We have both weekend and weekday runs. It's really fun meeting new friends and getting a run at the same time. Hope to see you soon!
