Hey everybody!

The Chicago Indie Rock Fans have been experiencing a lot of growth and as a result, we organizers thought this might be a good time to clarify a couple of things, particularly for the newer members.

We love that our members are so active in the Chicago music scene and are RSVPing yes for so many events. However, when you RSVP, we want to know whether you are going to a particular concert or event with us, not just whether you are going to the concert. When you RSVP yes, we wait as long as we can before moving from the pre-meetup location to the music venue. It helps us get to the show a little faster if we know we don’t need to wait for you to show up. When in doubt, RSVP "maybe." We would also appreciate it if you would update your RSVP on the day of the show, particularly since many of the shows we make meetups sell out during the day of the show. Thanks for your understanding and please update any RSVPs accordingly.

Regarding Ideas for Meetups, we are open not only to concert suggestions, but indie rock-related movies, art exhibits, lectures or anything else you can think of. If anyone has an idea they think would make a great meetup, feel free to use the "Idea" function or the message board. The "Idea" function is clearly marked on our home page and the message board can be found by clicking on "discussions" on the home page. Similar to RSVPing, we want to know not just whether you think an idea will make a good meetup, but whether you think it will be a good meetup and you will actually attend if we make it a meetup. Meaning, please suggest events that you would want to attend with CIRF.
